Clinical Psychologist Fees
Rebates for both individual and group sessions are available through Medicare with a Mental Health Care Plan Referral or through your private health insurer. Session cost can also be covered privately if you self refer.
Concession card holders may be eligible for a reduction in fees. Fees are dependent on the service required, such as an individual session, a group program or an organisational workshop. For more information, please contact us stating the service required and the referral avenue to receive a quote. Clients eligible for Department of Veteran Affairs or Insurance Claim funding are able to have appointments at no cost to the individual. |
Referrals & Rebates
Mental Health Care PlanWith a Mental Health Care Plan in place, Medicare may rebate the majority of the fee for up to 10 individual and 10 group therapy sessions per calendar year.
What to do? To access the Medicare rebate, before your appointment with us, you will need to get a referral from your General Practitioner under the Mental Health Care Plan, or a direct referral from a Psychiatrist or Paediatrician. Bring the referral to your first session at PsychologyWise Australia to receive your Medicare rebate of $128.40 per individual session (with a Clinical Psychologist). Group sessions also attract a rebate of $32.60 per group session. Please note, some General Practitioner Medical Centre Practices may require you to book in a longer consultation when gathering a Mental Health Care Plan Referral. |
Private with Health InsurancePrivate Health Insurers may also provide rebates for psychological services. Eligibility will depend on your health fund and level of cover.
What to do? Contact your Private Health Insurance Provider for further information on rebate details and amounts. The service is with a Clinical Psychologist and the item number for the service is 100 for an initial individual consult and 200 for ongoing individual consult. Please note you are unable to claim from both Medicare and Private Health Insurers for the same consultation session. |
